The sixth annual Albuquerque Gay Day kicks off a month of pride events in and around the New Mexico’s largest city, Albuquerque!  Albuquerque Gay Day gives lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender, intersex and queer/questioning individuals their families, friends and supporters a day to come together as a community for a fun, sun, rides, food, water and excitement at Cliff’s Amusement Park.  Held on the first Saturday in June it has become one of the largest gay pride events in the city.

You are encouraged to “Be seen in Red” while visiting Cliff’s Amusement Park; wearing something, like a red tee-shirt, to comfortably show your support for the LGBTIQ community.  Come be a part of our diverse community of hundreds enjoying activities and creating new friendships.  New this year is WaterMania!  Get outrageously wet in the Cliff’s brand new water adventure.  Water Monkeys is now Mega Water Monkeys and it’s five times bigger and a trillion times wetter!

Our hope for Albuquerque Gay Day has been to be the beginning a multi-event celebration; a total gay and lesbian vacation experience for locals and visitors alike.  Businesses, community organizations and individuals coming together to the center of the land of enchantment for the purpose of creating a gay and lesbian atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.

The real success of Albuquerque Gay Day is because of you, the Albuquerque Gay Day attendee. Whether you attend the Cliff’s Amusement Park event or take part in Albuquerque Pride, count yourself among those who contribute to the success and growth of an event that’s all about being you. Put on a red t-shirt, head out into the New Mexico sunshine and have some fun!

Visit us at www.abqgayday.com for more information and to purchase discount all-day passes.  Mark your calendars for ABQ GAY DAY, JUNE 2ND FROM 10AM to 9PM.

Celebrate Easter Sunday with Metropolitan Community Church

Pastor Judy Marries Lesbian Couple at County Clerk’s Office

In our ongoing effort to support Marriage Equality throughout the United States and around the world Metropolitan Community Churches asks us to become a voice for Marriage Equality, organize Marriage Equality events, meet our elected officials, and donate our time and money to this ministry of justice.  Today, Reverend Judith Maynard and some members of MCC of Albuquerque joined GetEQUAL at Civic Plaza in downtown Albuquerque for a Marriage Equality rally.  Earlier that day Reverend Maynard accompanied two lesbian couples to the Bernalillo County Clerk’s Office for marriage licenses.  Though both couples were denied marriage licenses, Reverend Maynard was allowed to perform a marriage ceremony in the waiting area.

Our founder The Reverend Elder Troy Perry established Metropolitan Community Churches as a vital part of the effort for Marriage Equality in the United States and around the world.  We are still committed to that effort today.  You can make a difference with your peaceful activism and your commitment to being a voice for Marriage Equality in our denomination, in your community and around the world.

National Coming Out Day

Monday, October 11th at 7:00 PM
Candlelight Vigil at Morningside Park (map)
Add Yourself to the Facebook Event (click here)

Rev. Judith Maynard will join Albuquerque Pride as one of the key speakers for this event.  National Coming Out Day is an internationally-observed civil awareness day for coming out and discussing gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersexed and questioning (LGBTIQ) issues. Come join our LGBTIQ communities and our allies at Morningside Park in Albuquerque on Monday, October 11th at 7:00 PM for a candlelight vigil.

In light of the recent suicides and bullying of our LGBTIQ youth, it is important for us to encourage all people, of all sexual orientations, to “take your next step” in living openly and powerfully on this October 11th.

We encourage you, on this day, to wear clothing and jewelry that utilizes gay pride symbols and colors. Our goal is to raise awareness of the LGBTIQ community among the general populace in an effort to give a familiar face to our LGBTIQ rights movement.
