In Ministry

“What you are is God’s gift to you; What you do with yourself is your gift to God.” — Danish Proverb

Every believer is called to ministry, regardless of his or her vocation. We practice the truth that everyone at MCCA is a minister by encouraging every member and friend of MCCA to find a place of service through ministry. Through relationships with each other and those we serve, we are able to create a culture of service in our lives, and help to create a world where God’s will is manifested for us all. Finding your place of ministry represents a lessening of our distance from God and from one another. It is much more than serving on a committee. In ministry, you and I can find a connection that strengthens us in so many ways. We’re closer to those with whom we serve. We’re closer to whom we give service. Most particularly, we are in every act of sharing our talents and gifts in the Church closer to God who has called this church into being. At Metropolitan Community Church of Albuquerque you have the opportunity to experience the joy of participating in a variety of activities and worship services. Through our ministries and outreach programs you will have the chance to be nurtured while using your gifts and talents. Here are some of the ways to be involved in the life of the church.

Worship & Celebration

At the heart of MCCA’s life and purpose is the worship of God. The congregation comes from a wide range of denominational backgrounds, yet we have discovered that what we share is stronger than our differences. Each Sunday ushers, readers, and other worship participants help to create meaningful worship experiences.

Music Ministry

This ministry offers a variety of ways to participate, both vocally and instrumentally. Praise Teams lead music during Sunday worship. Whatever your musical talent is, there is a place for you in the music ministry.

Children, Youth & Family Ministries

Children are the messages we will send to a time we may never see. Children and families are important to our congregation. At MCCA we seek to promote spiritual stability within our families, by offering learning opportunities for parents and children. You can enroll your children in the program at any time during the church year.

Technology Team

Through the use of sound and multi-media our worship experience is enhanced. It is also a way in which we share our message with others. Train to work in the Sound Booth, film worship services or run multi-media presentations.

Congregational Care

Through our various caring ministries, we are a community reaching out to people in their need, whether it is physical, emotional or spiritual. If you have a need please call the church office so we can arrange for someone to meet with you.

Outreach Ministry

We continually reach out to our community, to share God’s love for those seeking a spiritual place of welcome. Our newsletter and special events are opportunities to reach out.

Spiritual Growth & Development

We seek to deepen and enhance the spiritual depth of the congregation while creating and nurturing personal connections between people. Through Small Groups, workshops, and retreats people connect to God and each other.. You can join a current small group which is meeting, or train to facilitate a new group.

Congregational Life

Each Sunday we provide refreshments following worships. There are social events and other activities which create opportunities to make friends and form relationships here. Membership classes are offered throughout the year and a new membership orientation seminar is offered to assist newcomers in finding their place of ministry. Leadership development and other valuable training is offered throughout the year.

Social Justice

A variety of ministries provides for those in need. Each month a group takes a meal to the residents of the AIDS house. Another group takes bags of necessities to the homeless. Throughout the year we deliver gifts and food baskets to make the holidays special. We work to address the many needs of our community by thinking globally and acting locally.

Office Support Staff

Any day of the week faithful volunteers can be found performing important administrative tasks in the church office – from answering phones to assisting with mailings. Training is provided for those interested in staffing the office.

Building & Grounds

A team of volunteers work to keep the building and grounds beautiful. Work days are scheduled throughout the year and everyone is welcome to participate, no experience necessary.

Get involved in many of the events and programs which happen on Sundays or volunteer to serve in activities which happen during the week. From prayer support to passion for social causes, from stimulating small groups to opportunities to learn new skills. From assisting in the office to working with a group of people on various projects, you can grow and witness to your faith at Metropolitan Community Church in exciting and innovative ways!!
