Holy Week 2010
Sunday, March 28 – Palm Sunday Worship 10:30 am: Palm Sunday
Come and celebrate Palm Sunday at MCC of Albuquerque as we join the parade who welcomed Jesus into Jerusalem.
Thursday, April 1st – Holy Thursday Worship 7 pm: Our Place at the Table
On this night Jesus gathered with the disciples and friends to share what we call the Last Supper. He later went to the garden and prayed, knowing what was ahead. Experience Holy Thursday by expressing yourself through art, gardening, cleansing, sharing a meal, and music. Create something that you can take home as a remembrance of this night.
Friday, April 2nd – Good Friday Worship 7 pm: Our Place at the Cross
The cross is more than just a piece of fashionable jewelry. It is the fulfillment of the life and ministry of Jesus. Discover your place at the cross with Jesus and the power it holds.
Entering into the Household of Jesus
During these next 6 weeks we will experience Christ, the living, breathing son of God that captivates us with his teaching, embraces us with his love and disarms us with his grace.
Lent is the period of time leading up to Easter. It is a time of preparation of the believer for the annual commemoration during Holy Week where we reflect on the Death and Resurrection of Jesus. Lent is forty days long, and represents the time that Jesus spent in the wilderness before the beginning of his public ministry.
Ash Wednesday
On Ash Wednesday we will enter into one of the most important seasons of the church year—the “40 days” of Lent. Lent is a time in which we reflect on our lives and our relationships to discover and change what we must to prepare for Easter. By focusing on our spiritual life we can experience renewal! Even if Ash Wednesday is not something you have done in the past, come and begin your Lenten Journey on Wednesday, February 17th at 7 pm.
