Collection for Haiti

MCC Churches are collecting funds to support the MCC Congregation in the Dominican Republic, for those members who are Haitian and their families with direct support. Funds will also go to support a HIV & AIDS organization in Haiti that has been devastated by the earthquake. To contribute through MCC of Albuquerque, please indicate on your check or envelope “Haiti Relief.” Thank you for your generosity.

Inquiring Minds Want To Know

The gospel of Mark ends with Christ giving his followers their marching order to go into the entire world with his message. After Jesus’ resurrection he ministered for 40 more days on earth before his ascension into heaven, then the disciple banned together to follow his order.

When unbelievers face a crisis or turning point in their lives, they search for answers from authentic believers who may have shared the same struggles. In most cases, they silently observe day by day with inquiring minds, listening to your conversations and keeping a watchful eye on how you handle life’s struggles and disappointments. People are looking for an authentic relationship with God. They look to see if your personal relationship with God makes an authentic difference.

Are non-Christians searching for what we have? Absolutely! It is our mission to go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. When tragedy hits our neighborhood, we can offer our neighbors the peace that passes all understanding- the only good news that can make an eternal difference in their lives.

The church needs you! You need the church! Believers are the fuel for ministries. Twelve willing workers changed the world, but they did it together. Just imagine what we can do together as a church, as we change our community and world. Pray that God will minister to you, as you minister to others.

Vision of Victory

Sometimes the biggest obstacle to overcoming what separates us from doing great things for God is simply our eyesight.

Remember in Numbers 13 when the Israelite spies returned from Canaan and were overwhelmed with the obstacles to God’s promised future? The obstacles were GIANTS! They were so big that the Israelites felt like grasshoppers.

Corrie Ten Boom, the Dutch Christian woman who survived the Nazi death camps said, Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.

Whenever it comes to finding the necessary dollars to fund our churches mission there will be obstacles and fears that can seem overwhelming. Sometimes those obstacles are personal. You may think the church doesn’t need your gift or your gift really won’tmake a difference. But the truth is, you are needed and your gift, no matter the size, coupled with God’s blessing can deliver an amazing victory.

If we focus on our resources we will feel like grasshoppers, but if we focus instead on God’s resources combined with our obedience, we will indeed be giants.

If we continue to walk in God’s will, focused on God’s truth, God will provide the resources and the victory.
