Lent is the period of time leading up to Easter. It is a time of preparation of the believer for the annual commemoration during Holy Week where we reflect on the Death and Resurrection of Jesus. Lent is forty days long, and represents the time that Jesus spent in the wilderness before the beginning of his public ministry.
On Ash Wednesday we will enter into one of the most important seasons of the church year—the “40 days” of Lent. Lent is a time in which we reflect on our lives and our relationships to discover and change what we must to prepare for Easter. By focusing on our spiritual life we can experience renewal!
